En la atpasa en su forma f1-soluble, el fadh2 es un estimulador de la actividad enzimatica, en tanto que en particulas submitocondriales (psm) el fadh2 inhibe notablemente la catalisis enzimatica. En ambos casos el efcto modulador es mas acusado cuando las concentraciones de sustrato atp.Mg son mas peque\u00f1as (del orden de 0.06 nm).  en psm, por otro lado, el adp se comporta como un modulador bifasico activador\/inhibidor, pero este nucleosido difosfato no es capaz de revertir la inhibicion ocasionada por el fadh2. El atp, sin embargo, es capaz de convertir la inhibicion originada por el fadh2 en una potente activacion, siempre en psm.
