Tiene dos partes: la primera desarrolla los trabajos previos a la celebracion del concilio. La segunda recoge los trabajos propiamente conciliares.  por otra parte, tiene seis capitulos.  el primero resume los votos que llegaron a la santa sede procedentes de diversas personas e instituciones consultadas durante la etapa antepreparatoria.  el segundo resume los trabajos de la fase preparatoria.  el tercer capitulo desarrolla la evolucion del texto del n. 16 de la constitucion \u00abgaudium et spes\u00bb que trata de la conciencia moral.  el cuarto es una sintesis historica de la evolucion de la declaracion \u00abdignitatis humanae\u00bb, nn. 1-3.  los dos ultimos capitulos resumen el debate conciliar sobre este ultimo texto.  por ultimo, las conclusiones intentan resumir la base teologica subyacente a la doctrina recogida en esos dos textos
