Entre enero 1989 y 1990, se han estudiado los 50 primeros tumores solidos tratados con altas dosis de quimioterapia (adqt) intravenosa (iv) y transplante autologo de medula osea con celulas mielopoyeticas de sangre periferica en la clinica universitaria de navarra. El tratamiento ha consistido en la extraccion de celulas linfomononucleares (lmn) de sangre periferica (4,5 x 10 10) con un separador de celulas sanguineas cs-3000. Las celulas son preservadas en cultivo biologico durante 5-10 dias. Las adqt son administradas por via iv por 2 dias. A las 48 horas de finalizado las adqt, las celulas lmn son reinfundidas iv. Durante el periodo de mielodepresion profunda, se realiza un soporte de antibioticos, liquidos iv, sangre, plaquetas y otras medidas hasta la recuperacion mielopoyetica.
