En nuestro trabajo quisimos ver si sustancias capaces de bloquear este aumento de calcio producido por estos toxicos podian actuar protegiendo la celula hepatica. Se estudio el efecto de tres bloqueantes de los canales del calcio, verapamil, nifedipina y diltiazem, en el modelo de da\u00f1o hepatico inducido por tetracloruro de carbono. En los animales tratados con cada uno de los antagonistas del calcio, se encontro una recuperacion en parametros como ast, alt, glucogeno, peroxidacion lipidica, pge2 y pgi2, flujo biliar, velocidad de sintesis proteica y contenido de acidos nucleicos en higado, todos ellos alterados por el toxico.
