Por otra parte, el usuario de este tipo de lentes de contacto esta expuesto a tener que recurrir a diferentes farmacos, administrados por via general o local.  si la matriz del material que constituye la lente y la molecula del farmaco tienen la relacion adecuada o si existe una determinada polaridad que permita una interaccion ionica, podra incorporarse el farmaco a la lente.  esta incorporacion puede significar una doble accion:  a) sobre las lentes de contacto. Alterando sus parametros optico-fisicos y produciendo deformaciones que pueden desvirtuar su funcion correctora.  b) sobre los ojos del portador de las mismas debido a que las lentes hidrofilicas poseen poder de sorcion\/desorcion sobre soluciones acuosas.  se estudia la accion de cada uno de diez farmacos, dos de ellos en su preparacion comercial ademas de la unidosis, sobre dos tipos de lentes (ewc igual a 37,5% y 55%, respectivamente), asi como la posibilidad de utilizar las lentes de contenido en agua en equilibrio del 55% como vehiculo o reservorio de diclofenac sodico y sulfato
