Para ello se han utilizado catodos de hg y pt, los cuales tienen un comportamiento electroquimico diferente. Se ha realizado un peque\u00f1o estudio voltametrico de cada sistema con objeto de conocer el potencial de reduccion de (i) sobre hg y sobre pt. Los productos de la reduccion a potencial controlado sobre hg(-1.47 v vs sce) son:  1,5-difenil-2,6-dioxa(3,3,0)biciclooctano (ii) y 1,6-difenil-1,6-hexanodiona. Los productos de la reduccion sobre pt a potencial controlado (-1.55 v vs sce) son: propiofenona (iv), acrilofenona (v) y 1,6-difenil-1,6-hexanodiona (iii). La obtencion de estos productos nos da informacion acerca de las posibles rutas logicas de reaccion en cada electrolisis. Las aplicacion del metodo semiempirico mindo\/3 tanto a (i) como a los posibles intermedios generados en el proceso, nos da el apoyo teorico necesario, para finalmente proponer rutas logicas de reaccion para cada electrolisis. La transferencia de un electron a (i) genera un anion radical que se comporta de diferente forma dependiendo de del catodo usado.
