Como sistema objeto de este estudio, se ha escogido el citocromo c6(cit)y la plastocianina (pc), dos proteinas con estructuras diferentes pero con identica funcion, cual es transportar electrones entre los complejos de membrana citocromo b6-f y fotosistema i(psi).  la conexi\u00f3n entre ambos complejos la realiza una metaloproteina soluble, que puede ser la pc en plantas o el cit en cianobacterias, aunque existen algas verdes (eucarioticas) y otras cianobacterias capaces de sintetizar tanto pc como cit. La siguiente pregunta se plantea de inmediato: \u00c2\u00bfporque el cit se ha visto desplazado por la pc durante el curso evolutivo?  cit y pc consituyen un excelente ejemplo para el estudio de la evolucion biologica a nivel molecular.Ambas proteinas poseen propiedades bioquimicas similares, y exhiben un mecanismo de reaccion con el psi distinto de un organismo a otro pero similar dentro de un mismo organismo.  en este proyecto se han clonado, mutado y expresado en la enterobacteria excherichia coli los genes que codifican la pc(p e te) y el cit(petj) de la cianobacteria anabaena sp. Pc 7119. Posteriormente, se ha realizado un estudio estructural y funcional comparado de todas las proteinas recombinantes. los resultados obtenidos son los siguientes:  1. Se han clonado, secuenciado y expresado correctamente en escherichia coli los genes petj y pete de la cianobacteria anabaena sp pcc 7119.  2. Se ha dise\u00f1ado un metodo de superproduccion del citocromo c6,cuyo rendimiento ha permitido realizar estudios funcionales y estructurales, asi como marcar homogeneamente con 15 n la hemoproteina.  3. El citocromo c6 de anabaena sp. Pcc 7119 posee dos zonas mediante las cuales interacciona con el psi.
