El programa chaosbase sirve para crear \u00abbases de datos de desconexiones\u00bb que pueden posteriormente ser utilizadas por chaos para elaborar sintesis. Ambos programas se ejecutan sobre ordenadores personales macintosh y poseen una extraordinaria facilidad de uso, lo cual hace que sean accesibles a cualquier usuario.  para elaborar sintesis, el programa chaos emplea una \u00abrepresentacion en sentido retrosintetico\u00bb de reacciones quimicas conocidas. Dicha representacion es llamada \u00abtransform\u00bb, y puede considerarse como un operador tal que, aplicado a la \u00abmolecula objetivo\u00bb, genera sustancias susceptibles de ser empleadas como
