Se han investigado diversos catalizadores en cuya preparacion se han utilizado tres oxidos de cerio diferentes y dos sales precursoras distintas: rh(no3)3 y rhcl3. Asimismo, los catalizadores se han sometido a diversos tratamientos de reduccion que van desde condiciones muy suaves, en ausencia de hidrogeno, hasta reducciones en flujo de h2 puro a 773 k.  se ha empleado a una diversidad de tecnicas instrumentales entre las que se incluyen: adsorcion volumetrica de h2, co y o2 a diversas temperaturas; dtp\/tpr con analisis de los productos gaseosos mediante espectrometria de masas o cromatografia de gases; analisis termogravimetrico; difraccion de rayos x; medidas de susceptibilidad magnetica mediante una balanza de faraday; espectroscopia xps y microscopia electronica de alta resolucion. A destacar la combinacion de tecnicas aplicadas, muy poco usual, que, no obstante, ha demostrado ser muy adecuada para el estudio de rodio soportado sobre ceo2. A partir de los resultados obtenidos ha podido establecerse una metodolog\u00eda especifica para la caracterizacion de esta clase de catalizadores.
