La \u00fanica enzima amidante identificada en mam\u00edferos es la monooxigenasa alfa-amidante de peptidilglicinas (pam).  en nuestro estudio hemos encontrado expresi\u00f3n de los genes preproam y pam tanto en la pr\u00f3stata humana normal como tumoral. La inmunorreactividad para pamp se localiza exclusivamente en c\u00e9lulas neuroendocrinas (ne). El marcaje para am se detecta en todos los tipos celulares epiteliales y en algunos componentes del estroma. Pam se expresa en los mismos tipos celulares positivos para am o pamp. Tambi\u00e9n hemos encontrado que en la pr\u00f3stata existe un fen\u00f3meno de corte y empalme alternativo para los genes preproam y pam as\u00ed como un procesamiento postraduccional de las prote\u00ednas precursoras.  en la pr\u00f3stata humana, la presencia de andr\u00f3genos no es necesaria para la expresi\u00f3n de los genes de preproam y pam. En algunos modelos experimentales de carcinoma prost\u00e1tico (cp), la expresi\u00f3n de pam aumenta tras la eliminaci\u00f3n de andr\u00f3genos. Esto podr\u00eda llevar a la aparici\u00f3n de cp refractarios a trav\u00e9s de un aumento en la tasa de bioactivaci\u00f3n de p\u00e9ptidos reguladores.  la tinci\u00f3n para am se encuentra con frecuencia en el cp. Sin embargo, parece no ser un buen marcador diagn\u00f3stico ni estar relacionado con la agresividad tumoral. Muchos cp presentan c\u00e9lulas ne positivas para pamp o pam. Pero \u00e9stas no parecen tener valor como marcador diagn\u00f3stico, a excepci\u00f3n de los pacientes pretratados con terapia antihormonal, quienes tienden a presentar una gran diferenciaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas ne positivas para pamp.  la retirada de andr\u00f3genos induce la diferenciaci\u00f3n de subplobaciones ne positivas para pamp y pam e<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos
