Cerevisae con fenotipo killer fue investigada en diferentes bodegas pertenecientes a tres comarcas vinicolas de galicia. Globalmente, un 71% de los aislamientos fueron killer-sensibles, un 22.4% fueron killer y el 6.6% restante mostraron fenotipo killer-resistente. Sin embargo se observaron importantes variaciones en la distribucion de las tres poblaciones en las diferentes bodegas y comarcas muestreadas. Las poblaciones con fenotipo killer no constituyeron la mayoria de los aislamientos.  todas las cepas killer positivo presentaron fenotipo k2 debido a la presencia de l2 y m2 dsrna encapsidado en virus, con clara homolog\u00eda con cepas killer k2 de coleccion. Uno de los aislamientos no presento m2dsrna, con lo que su fenotipo no se encuentra determinado por elementos extracromosomales.  ha sido identificada y caracterizada una forma de deleccion derivada de m2dsrna (nsudsrna) de 1,3 kb, que no provoca el fenomeno de exclusion o interferencia viral. El analisis mediante pfge de los cromosomas presentes en las cepas killer de s. Cerevisae demostro que podian ser agrupadas en 13 cariotipos claramente diferenciables entre si.  la practica totalidad de las cepas viricas killer-resistente de s.
