Tras un analisis sociologico e historico de la america de principios de siglo inmersa en la problematica derivada de las guerras mundiales y manteniendo como eje o hilo conductor un nutriente en las vanguardias historicas experimentadas en europa, vemos como el centro de gravedad del arte se desplaza de paris a nueva york.  la obra de rothko como baluarte dinamizador de una nueva estetica pasa a ser el foco de estudio a lo largo de la tesis. A continuacion se estudia todo un contexto cultural que cristalizara en el expresionismo abstracto como resultado de un esfuerzo colectivo.      La influencia de rothko en el arte actual pasa por la puntualizacion en la obra de varios artistas posteriores, entre ellos, su autora, que se siente conectada con esa propuesta plastica y que
