Se han obtenido los resultados utilizando sistemas de deteccion de radiacion luminosa y de particulas cargadas que permiten almacenar los datos en forma digital y proporcionan resolucion temporal, imprescindible en el estudio de estos medios que evolucionan muy rapidamente en el tiempo. En el primer capitulo, mediante tecnicas de tiempo de vuelo y un analizador electrostatico se obtienen las energias y velocidades de los iones del plasma y se discute el proceso de aceleracion. Se describen tambien varias aplicaciones del sistema en espectrometria de masas. En el segundo capitulo, utilizando un analizador optico multicanal, se estudia la propagacion de la emision debida a la expansion del plasma. Se presenta una aplicacion de la espectroscopia de plasmas laser al analisis de la composicion de aceros.
