El carcinogeno tioacetamida a ratas para inducir una agresion hepatica en que se caracterizan las etapas de necrosis y cirrosis mediante la evaluacion de parametros bioquimicos y analisis histologico de cortes de higado. Se ha estudiado la evolucion de la composicion lipidica de membranas celulares en ambas fases del da\u00f1o hepatico y el metabolismo de la esfingomielina.  los resultados obtenidos demuestran:  a) que el carcinogeno induce indiferenciacion de la composicion lipidica de estructuras subcelulares que pueden constituir un parametro indicador de las alteraciones citologicas que concurren en el desarrollo de hepatomas, b) que la biosintesis hepatica de la esfingomielina se activa durante la necrosis y cirrosis inducidas por el toxico.
