Esta capa que en principio se denomino capa e anormal o e nocturna es lo que se conoce hoy con el nombre de capa e esporadica, es. Para explicar su formacion hay que recurrir a otros mecanismos que no sean solamente el equilibrio entre la fotoionizacion y la recombinacion entre iones y electrones libres. Entre los mecanismos propuestos para explicar la formacion de la capa e esporadica el mas importante se basa en la redistribucion en altura de la densidad electronica por la accion combinada del viento horizontal y el campo geomagnetico. En esta memoria se plantea un modelo para la determinacion de la altura de la capa es en funcion del viento, analizandose ademas los mecanismos de divergencia como factores de genesis de dicha capa. Este modelo es valido a partir de los datos aportados por una campa\u00f1a de medidas con cohetes realizada en arenosillo.  finalmente se aplica el modelo a un perfil tipo de velocidad vertical de las
