Una de ellas est\u00e1 codificada por un mrna de 4.5 kb que se expresa en m\u00fasculo y la otra por un mrna de 5.2 kb que se expresa en la totalidad de los tejidos. Cada uno de estos mrnas se transcribe desde uno de los dos promotores alternativos que posee este gen. El estudio de los dos promotores que presenta este gen en el curst\u00e1ceo artemia franciscana ha sido el objetivo de esta tesis.  se ha intentado identificar y caracterizar las principales regiones reguladoras presentes tanto en el promotor muscular (pr 1) como en el promotor no muscular (pr 2). Por un lado se han realizado estudios de uni\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas nucleares de artemia a los promotores mediante t\u00e9cnicas de protecci\u00f3n a digesti\u00f3n por dnasa i. Ambos promotores presentan zonas protegidas cuando se incuban sondas de dichos promotores con extractos de nauplias. Estas regiones no aparecen cuando se incuban dichas sondas con extractos de quistes, lo que sugerir\u00eda la existencia de distintos factores de transcripci\u00f3n en embriones enquistados y en nauplias. Tambi\u00e9n se han realizado ensayos funcionales mediante t\u00e9cnicas de expresi\u00f3n transitoria en c\u00e9lulas de mam\u00edferos. Los dos promotores son activos en c\u00e9lulas de mam\u00edfero, si bien el promotor muscular presenta una m\u00e1s baja actividad. En c\u00e9lulas de insecto la actividad de ambos promotores es muy baja. Los estudios realizados han permitido detectar en el promotor no muscular regiones reguladoras de la actividad transcripcional situadas a 1.2-1.4 kb del origen de transcripci\u00f3n, una activadora,
