Los materiales de partida han sido cuatro hullas con contenidos entre un 20 y 38% en materia volatil. La secuencia experimental comprende la oxidacion de los carbones, carbonizacion y activacion mediante gasificacion controlada con co2.  la preoxidacion de los carbones se llevo a cabo a 200 c durante periodos de tiempo entre 1 y 14 dias, y 270 c entre 3 y 42 dias. Esta prexidacion elimina las propiedades termoplasticas del carbon y dirige el desarrollo de su porosidad.  la carbonizacion de los materiales preoxidados se realizo en atmosfera de nitrogeno, con una velocidad de calentamiento de 60 k min1 hasta alcanzar una temperatura final de 850 c. El desarrollo textural de los carbonizados se encuentra fuertemente condicionado por la preoxidacion del carbon precusor, que afecta a su comportamiento plastico, al contenido en materia volatil y a su porosidad.  los carbonizados (\u00abchars\u00bb) se activaron en atmosfera de co2 a 850 c. Buena parte de la experimentacion se condujo a conversion constante (x=0.52) utilizando diferentes flujos de gas reactivo (7 y 500 cm min para una masa inicial de 4 g). El uso de flujos bajos conduce a carbones con un caracter microporoso mas desarrollado debido al efecto inhibidor que el co, producto de la reaccion, ejerce sobre la misma, permitiendo una gasificacion mas uniforme. Experimentacion posterior a conversiones variables ha permitido seguir la evolucion de la textura en funcion de la tasa de quemado.  la seccion de diferentes condiciones de trabajo permite obtener una gran variedad de carbones activos con porosidades entre 0.3 y 0.7, y areas superficiales en el intervalo 20-1900 mg.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
