Se han obtenido los siguientes resultados: la ciclosporina a produce colestasis y reduce la concentracion y secrecion biliar de acidos biliares, bilirrubina, colesterol, fosfolipidos, alfa-glutamil transferasa y fosfatasa acida, retrasando la aparicion del pico de maxima excrecion de la peroxidasa de rabano picante. Estos cambios se acompa\u00f1aron de incrementos de las concentraciones sericas de acidos biliares, bilirrubina, glucosa, urea y creatinina, y reduccion de la concentracion de proteinas. El estudio morfologico revelo la existencia de alteraciones que en general parecen tener un caracter reversible. Todos estos resultados permiten postular que los efectos hepatotoxicos del farmaco son manifestaciones de un fenomeno multifactorial originado por alteracion \/ inhibicion de los procesos de transporte hepatocitario a nivel sinusoidal, transcelular y canalicular de los componentes biliares, lo que conduce a una drastica alteracion de las funciones excretoras del
