Un amplio estudio geoquimico de gases volcanicos-hidrotermales se desarrollo con el objeto de realizar un analisis de las causas y efectos ha generado esta crisis en la caldera. Se realizo una prospeccion geoquimica de rn y hg elemental en el ambiente superficial de la caldera con el objeto de obtener un mejor conocimiento de los efectos de la crisis sismico-deformacional. Se recogieron muestras de gases que emanan de las fumarolas y fuentes termales para el analisis quimico e isotopico de estas descargas. Los resultados indican que las caracterisgeo-estructurales de la caldera estan siendo afectas por una combinacion de mecanismos hidrotermales y magmaticos. Los gases en los suelos indican una relacion clara con las caracteristicas geo-estructurales de la caldera, proximidad a focos magmaticos y localizacion de bocas eruptivas de formacion post-caldera.
