La observacion del desarrollo de la biopelicula en el medio soporte permeable al oxigeno, se constituyo en el objetivo principal de esta tesis.  el campo de investigacion se delimito al caso de la eliminacion de la materia organica carbonacea del agua residual.  para realizar dichos objetivos, se dise\u00f1o una planta piloto (rsp), en la que se llevo a cabo una experimentacion lo mas amplia y completa posible.  se empleo un dispositivo para extraer la biopelicula del soporte, ideado para tal fin.  la carga organica afluente (coa), vario desde 146 gdqo\/m2.D. Hasta 584 gdqo\/m2.D. El caudal de oxigeno empleado fue de 0,167 kg\/m2.D. 0,195 kg\/m2.D y 0.223 kg\/m2.D. Se emplearon dos medios soporte (ms), de tama\u00f1o de poro de 0,5 y 0,2um.  se han realizado balances de sustrato, oxigeno, nitrogeno y solidos.  tambien se ha hecho un analisis parametrico y biocinetico, asi como las comparaciones de resultados con otros procesos.  como resultados mas importantes que definen el proceso estudiado se citan los siguientes: el rendimiento alcanzado superior al 90%, lo es para cargas organicas comprendidas entre 130 y 160 gdqo\/m2.D.  la biopelicula desarrollada en el soporte permeable al oxigeno, tuvo un porcentaje muy alto de volatiles ( 90%), una densidad muy elevada (90-105 kg\/m3), y muy elevado espesor ( 3 mm).  la produccion de fangos ha resultado muy baja. Los solidos suspendidos en el efluente estuvieron en valores maximos de 27 mg\/l.  las tasas de consumo de oxigeno son comparables a las de otros procesos con oxigeno.
