Sus edificios muestran una riqueza de matices que, partiendo de la influencia modernista, sin renunciar al historicismo y al eclecticismo predominantes en la epoca, muestran a la postre la busqueda de un compromiso entre el caracter de una ciudad historica y la modernidad. Ademas, es de destacar su aportacion en la restauracion de monumentos de interes historico-artistico, singularizandose entre ellos el teatro romano de merida.  al analisis de su trayectoria profesional y a la catalogacion de su obra sigue un capitulo en el que se revisan los criterios dominantes en la interpretacion de la arquitectura sevillana de su tiempo, aportando reflexiones
