La metodolog\u00eda empleada se basa en la aplicacion de iaa isotopicamente marcado a discos de pericarpo. Se ha detectado la formacion de cinco compuestos procedentes del metabolismo no descarboxilativo del iaa, dos de los cuales se han identificado por espectrometria de masas y corresponden al conjugado del iaa con la glucosa (iagluc) y al conjugado del iaa con el aspartico (iaasp). El metabolismo no descarboxilativo del iaa en el pericarpo del tomate esta constituido fundamentalmente por dos rutas. Una de ellas, en las que esta implicado el iaasp, conduce a la inactivacion irreversible de la hormona, mientras que la otra, en la que participa el iagluc, es reversible y parece constituir un mecanismo de regulacion homeostatica de los niveles de iaa. La descarboxilacion del iaa suministrado a discos de pericarpo verdes es mayor que la correspondiente a los discos maduros. Sin embargo la mayor capacidad descarboxilativa del tejido verde parece ser una respuesta al da\u00f1o producido en la escision de los discos, el cual incrementa la actividad iaa oxidasa
