Se han medido las constantes de complejacion de estos compuestos con los picratos de sodio y potasio en cloroformo. Uno de estos compuestos, el ciclohexano-15-corona-5,21-corona-7, ha mostrado una eficacia en el transporte muy superior al resto, debido a la presencia de un efecto alosterico. Se ha preparado por primera vez un sistema alosterico con capacidad alosterica negativa. Se ha comprobado este fenomeno por el incremento del transporte.
