Se ha procedido a extraer y caracterizar el potencial enzimatico y microbiano que participa en el proceso fermentativo que tuvo el residuo, y que aun activo, reside en un compost de rsu o en un lodo estabilizado de fosa septica.  tras la determinacion inicial de su riqueza enzimatica, se procedio a definir las condiciones optimas para la extraccion (tipo de solucion extractante, ph, forma de agitacio, etc).  la utilizacion de soluciones salinas diluidas a phs moderadamente alcalinos (proceso con bajo coste energetico) permite la liberacion de un conjunto enzimatico que cuenta con actividades tales como fosfatasas alcalina y acida. B-d-glucosidasa y cmc celulasa, principalmente en el rsu. La posterior caracterizacion de estas permite establecer hipotesis sobre su situacion dentro del compost y la naturaleza de su asociacion a la materia organica residual soluble.
