Teresa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Se ha analizado la interaccion entre el metabolismo del nitrogeno y del carbono en plantas c3 empleando fosfinotricina (ppt) un inhibidor de la glutamina sintetasa (gs) que, junto a la glutamato sintasa (gogat), constituye la principal via de incorporacion de amonio en compuestos organicos en plantas superiores. La aplicacion foliar de ppt provoca una importante alteracion no solo del metabolismo del nitrogeno, sino tambien de diversos procesos fotosinteticos, presentando ambos una estrecha interaccion. Asi, la inhibicion de la gs seria la causa de la reduccion de la fotosintesis al limitar el aporte de grupos amino para las etapas de transaminacion durante la fotorrespiracion, impidiendo un adecuado flujo de carbono a traves del ciclo.
