Se fundamentan en la construccion de una membrana interna conductora, que contribuye a mejorar la estabilidad y reproducibilidad del potencial. El soporte inerte se basa en cloruro de vinilo y diversos plastificantes, usando tetrahidrofurano como disolvente. La disolucion recubridora que constituye la membrana se deposita sobre la base de un electrodo de platino. Sobre esta membrana, una vez seca, se deposita la solucion recubridora que constituye la membrana externa, electroanaliticamente activa, usando la misma matriz inerte disuelta en tetrahidrofurano. Una vez seca, se acondiciona previamente a su uso en una disolucion de efedrina 10-4 m. Como pares ionicos activos se emplean el de efedrina-tetrafenilborato y el de efedrina-5-nitrobarbiturato.
