Merce <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En esta tesis se describe una nueva especie de micobacteria no pigmentada de crecimiento rapido. Su inclusion en el genero mycobacterium esta basada en su acido-alcohol resistencia, su contenido en g+c y en su patron de acidos micolicos. Los estudios de taxonomia numerica muestran que las 6 cepas estudiadas forman un grupo homogeneo con un valor de similaridad fenolipica interna del 97+-2,2%. Los estudios de homolog\u00eda adn\/adn demuestran que las 6 cepas de m. Alvei estudiadas forman un grupo unico de hibridacion cuya relacion con otras 14 especies del genero mycobacterium es menor del 49%; los valores de  tm determinados para las cepas que tenian mayores niveles de homolog\u00eda adn\/adn fueron todos mayores a 7,9 grados c. El analisis lipidico mostro la presencia de acido tuberculoestearico. Se detectaron los esteres metilicos de los acidos docosanoico y tetracosanoico como productos mayoritarios de la pirolisis de los acidos micolicos.
