Presentacion <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Con la finalidad de obtener un mayor conocimiento de la eficacia reproductora de ceraticis capitata (wied), se ha estudiado la accion del factor \u00abedad de la generacion parental\u00bb en poblaciones descendientes de padres con cinco edades diferentes (5,10,15,21 y 27 dias) y la incidencia de la edad avanzada de la generacion parental en cuatro generaciones sucesivas originadas por padres con 18 dias, asi como la actividad de copula de los machos, utilizando parejas aisladas sometidas a condiciones controladas de temperatura, humedad relativa y fotoperiodo. Los resultados obtenidos indican que \u00abla edad de la generacion parental\u00bb no incide negativamente en el comportamiento reproductor y desarrollo de sus descendientes. El factor \u00abedad avanzada de los padres\u00bb no afecta a la actividad reproductora y desarrollo larvario de esta especie, en cuatro generaciones sucesivas.  respecto al potencial reproductor de los machos de c. Capitata, se comprobo que un macho es capaz de copular con una media de 23 hembras a lo largo de su vida, con una duracion media del apareamiento de 120 minutos. Asimismo, se observa la alta viabilidad del esperma de los machos de este insecto, aun en etapas avanzadas de su vida. Las conclusiones de este trabajo pueden ser de gran utilidad en la aplicacion de futuras investigaciones encaminadas a la lucha contra este insecto.
