Dada la similitud entre ambos tipos de gpi, se propuso que los gpi de anclaje eran los precursores de moleculas mediadoras de la accion de insulina. En este trabajo demostramos que existen 2 familias diferenciadas de gpi, unas implicadas en anclaje de proteinas a la membrana plasmatica y otra familia implicada en se\u00f1alizacion. Para valorar el estudio, usamos una linea celular mutante, la cual, a pesar de ser deficiente en la biosintesis del gpi de anclaje de proteinas, presentaba en su molecula un gpi el cual era modulado por insulina. Asi mismo, comprobamos que este gpi implicado en accion de insulina tenia una estructura similar al gpi que era modulado por egf.
