La sintesis y organizacion de fibronectina se incrementa notablemente en las lineas celulares car b y car c, de morfolog\u00eda fibroblastica, derivadas de carcinomas fusiformes y representativas del estadio de progresion tumoral mas avanzado en este sistema. El incremento en la expresion de fibronectina va acompa\u00f1ado en estas celulas de un aumento en su capacidad de adhesion a esta proteina respecto a la del resto de las lineas celulares del sistema, y de la expresion de la integrina alfa5beta1.  esta molecula actua como receptor de fibronoctina en car c y esta ausente en las lineas celulares de morfolog\u00eda epitelial. Asimismo, se ha puesto de manifiesto un aumento de la adhesion a colageno de la lineas tumorogenicas respecto a la linea no tumorogenica mca 3d.  este incremento va asociado a la expresion en las lineas tumorogenicas de un integrina beta1 con una subunidad alfa de 140 kd de tama\u00f1o en condiciones no reductoras, que esta ausente en la linea no tumorogenica. Las caracteristicas bioquimicas de esta subunidad sugieren que sea la homologa de la subunidad alfa2 humana, pudiendo ser responsable de la adhesion a colageno exhibida por las celulas que la expresan. Sin embargo, la caracterizacion definitiva de esta subunidad esta pendiente de disponer de reactivos apropiados en raton.  la expresion de la integrina alfa6beta4 se caracteriza por un incremento en las lineas tumorogenicas que conservan una morfolog\u00eda epitelial, y una drastica disminucion en la linea fibroblastoide car c. En tumores de piel de raton se produce una perdida del patron de expresion polarizada de alfa6beta4 caracteristico en la epidermis.
