Esta clasificacion ha permitido distinguir aquellas cubetas que se alimentan fundamentalmente de agua superficial que han sido denominadas \u00abepigenicas\u00bb, de aquellas otras en las que las aguas subterraneas forman una parte importante del balance hidrologico anual denominadas \u00abhipogenicas\u00bb el estudio de la evolucion geoquimica y oscilacion de aguas superficiales y subterraneas en cada tipo genetico-funcional definido ha permitido la elaboracion de dos modelos conceptuales de funcionamiento en ambos casos, el regimen hidrologico adquiere una importancia decisiva en la organizacion y funcionamiento de estos ecosistemas acuaticos. El agua subterranea especialmente ejerce un efecto amortiguador de las fluctuaciones experimentadas por el nivel del agua, confiriendo en ultimo termino mayor estabilidad al
