La accion de la kinetina alterando la expresion genetica de los cloroplastos no se ejerce directamente, sini atraves de un factor citoplasmico probablemente de naturaleza proteica. El factor es inactivado calentando a 100 c durante 5 min o incubando con tripsina. Es precipitado con sulfato amonico y no difunde al dializar.  el factor estimulador no es sintetizado de novo por la incubacion de las hojas de citoquininas, segun se desprende del estudio con
