Entre los rasgos mas sobresalientes de su personalidad intelectual esta la vinculacion entre ciencia y fe, la que se hace patente en su filosofia.  desde una perspectiva filosofica, bello parte de una influencia escotista con marcados acentos modernos que le vinculan con el empirismo, para luego transitar de manera eclectica por el psicologismo escoces, la ideolog\u00eda, el ecleticismo frances y el utilitarismo.
