Se divide la obra en tres capitulos. El primer capitulo intenta ubicar el lector en el entorno en que se hallaban los misioneros al principio de la colonizacion de las nuevas tierras.  en el segundo capitulo tratamos tanto de los responsables de la cristianizacion del pueblo indio como de las dificultades que hubo en la ense\u00f1anza de la fe a los indigenas. Entre las personas que se destacan por su celo en la propagacion de la fe son los reyes catolicos y sus sucesores.  cabe mencionar tambien el papel realizado por los soldados conquistadores. Mas adelante tratamos la labor llevada a cabo por las grandes ordenes religiosas que entraron primer en el continente americano. A ellas corresponde directamente el trabajo de evangelizacion.  no podemos olvidar tampoco las dificultades que encontraron los doctrineros. Solo en su comprension se puede entender las medidas tomadas por los concilios provinciales de lima de siglo xvi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
