Entre las caracteristicas mas importantes perseguidas en el dise\u00f1o de estos controladores se pueden destacar la robustez, tanto estructural como numerica, para hacer frente a las indefiniciones derivadas de los continuos cambios que se producen en la red de transporte (cambios topologicos, entrada\/salida brusca de cargas, etc.). Otro de los objetivos ha sido que, los algoritmos de control garanticen el seguimiento de las trayectorias de referencia de manera que se cumplan, en todo momento, los requisitos operacionales de la regulacion secundaria de tension y potencia reactiva. En la primera parte de la tesis, se efectua una revision del estado actual de las estrategias de regulacion secundaria de tension y potencia reactiva, asi como los algoritmos de control multivariables. A continuacion se dise\u00f1an y desarrollan algoritmos de control multivariable del tipo pi, estudiandose su robustez estructural y numerica ante sistemas mal definidos. Estos algoritmos son contrastados posteriormente en su funcionamiento sobre dos ejemplos de sistemas multivariables empleados en la bibliografia mas relevante. Por ultimo, se dise\u00f1a una estrategia de regulacion secundaria de tension y potencia reactiva \u00abon-line\u00bb basada en el empleo de los controladores pi multivariables desarrollados. Esta nueva estrategia de regulacion es aplicada sobre una red de transporte real, donde se muestra la utilidad y validez de las metodolog\u00edas de control
