Las especies fueron el rorqual comun (balaenoptera physalus) del atlantico que es un gran cetaceo de bajo nivel trofico, el calderon de aleta larga (globicephala melas) de las islas faroe de tama\u00f1o medio y que ocupa un nivel intermedio en la red trofica y el delfin listado (stenella coeruleoalba) un peque\u00f1o cetaceo que ocupa los niveles troficos mas altos del mediterraneo y que sufrio una epidemia el a\u00f1o 1990.  en las tres especies los compuestos organoclorados se distribuieron homogeneamente en los distintos tejidos, segun la cantidad de lipidos de estos.  las concentraciones, cocientes y cargas de ddts y pcbs se incrementaron con la edad en los machos y descendieron en las hembras adultas debido a la transferencia de cantidades de contaminantes a sus descendientes durante la gestacion i sobretodo durante la lactancia. Como consecuencia de este patron los machos estan en promedio mas contaminados que las hembras.  los compuestos organoclorados sirvieron para discriminar dos grupos de los 5 estudiados en los calderones de las islas faroe, y para discriminar las poblaciones atlantica y mediterranea de delfin listado.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
