Vimos que protozoos y bacteriofagos fueron responsables de la mortalidad de bacterias fecales en agua de mar, aunque varias estimas de biomasa y actividad metabolica indicaron que dichas bacterias, morfologica y geneticamente intactas pueden existir en agua de mar, en una medida superior a la mostrada por su cultivabilidad. Ademas, la adaptacion de e. Coli al agua de mar puede permitir una mas larga supervivencia y expresion plasmidica en ambientes marinos, lo cual es importante, tras nuestra observacion de que plasmidos marinos exogenamente aislados pueden afectar la supervivencia de e. Coli en agua de mar. Mas aun, estos plasmidos pueden ser transferidos durante la supervivencia a largo plazo en agua de mar, e incluso en un estado de no cultivabilidad.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
