Entre ellos destacan dos grupos de compuestos monohidroxilados, los hetes y los hodes, en cuya biosintesis estan implicadas las vias de la ciclooxigenasa (cox) y la lipoxigenasa (lox). En el presente estudio se ha analizado el efecto de la interleuquina-1 (il-1) sobre la biosintesis de estos compuestos por parte de fibroblastos dermicos humanos en cultivo, dado que estos compuestos presentan una amplia variedad de efectos biologicos. Esta celulas sintetizan 11 y 15-hete a partir del aa, y 9 y 13-hode a partir del al. Esta sintesis es estimulada por la il-1, tanto por la forma alfa como por la beta, siendo dependiente del tiempo y la concentracion de la citoquina, localizandose a nivel de membrana y estando implicada la ciclooxigenasa como principal enzima. La supresion del efecto de la il-1 por inhibidores de la sintesis proteica indica que la citoquina ejerce su accion a traves de la sintesis de nuevas moleculas del enzima
