La serie mas completa es la del sondeo garraf-i, realizado ante la desembocadura del rio llobregat, usandose como patron para bioestratigrafia y paleoecolog\u00eda.\u00f1 &#8211; Sistematica: se han identificado y determinado 60 grupos o especies. Parte importante del trabajo ha consistido en la revision sistematica, basada en criterios biometricos, de estos grupos, en especial los de significacion bioestratigrafica (reticulofenestridos, por ejemplo).\u00f1 &#8211; cronoestratigrafia: las biozonaciones standard no han sido utilizables, debido en parte a que algunos de los limites entre biozonas estan basados en apariciones y desapariciones de especies de ceratolithus, raras en las muestras estudiadas. Por ello, se ha optado por una subdivision propia para la seccion de garraf-i, la cual ha resultado util para establecer la correlacion con el resto de sondeos y afloramientos. La serie pliocena se ha subdividido en 9 intervalos, basados en cambios dentro de las familias prinsiaceae y discoasteraceae. Estos intervalos se correlacionan con las zonas propuestas por otros autores para el plioceno mediterraneo. Asi, las muestras de las cuencas del llobregat, emporda, roussillon, languedoc y liguria pertenecen a la parte inferior del plioceno inferior, mientras que las de la provence corresponden al plioceno inferior y parte inferior del plioceno superior.\u00f1 &#8211; Paleoecolog\u00eda: la nannoflora evidencia cambios climaticos importantes en el intervalo registrado, confirmando los datos obtenidos en
