Las muestras proceden de los diferentes escalones de la cadena de fabricaci\u00f3n, desde el alambr\u00f3n inicial sin trefilar hasta el alambre de pretensado comercial fuertemente trefilado. El l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico del acero (funci\u00f3n del grado de trefilado o nivel de endurecimiento por deformaci\u00f3n) se considera la variable fundamental para elucidar las consecuencias del proceso de fabriaci\u00f3n en el posterior comportamiento en fractura en servicio en presencia de defectos geom\u00e9tricos superficiales tipo entalla.  el programa experimental de la tesis consiste en la realizaci\u00f3n de ensayos de fractura sobre alambres axisim\u00e9tricos entallados con distintos grados de trefilado. Al utilizarse muy diferentes geometr\u00edas de entalla, el efecto de la triaxialidad tensional en las proximidades del fondo de entalla sobre la iniciaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo del propio proceso de fractura tambi\u00e9n puede analizarse. Desde el punto de vista del ingeniero se estudia la evoluci\u00f3n de la sensibilidad a las entalladas de los distintos aceros en funci\u00f3n de la triaxialidad tensional y del l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico.  desde el punto de vista microsc\u00f3pico se realiza un exhaustivo estudio fractogr\u00e1fico mediante microscop\u00eda electronica de barrido de las diferentes superficiales de fractura con el fin de estudiar los micromecanismos f\u00edsicos que conducen a la fractura final por separaci\u00f3n total de superficies del material. Mediante t\u00e9cnicas de an\u00e1lisis de imagen se han elaborado mapas de fractura microsc\u00f3pica de las muestras ensayadas.  en el plano num\u00e9rico se modeliza el proceso de fractura mediante c\u00e1lculo por el m\u00e9todo de los elementos finitos en r\u00e9gimen elastopl\u00e1stico, con el fin de analizar la evoluci\u00f3n tenso-deformacional durante el proceso de fractura, y en
