La mayor parte de las heteroestructuras estudiadas han sido crecidas mediante la tecnica de mbe modificada \u00abepitaxia de haces moleculares en capas atomicas (almbe)\u00bb. En las heteroepitaxias consideradas, el desajuste reticular (f=(a epicapa -a substrato)\/a substrato) varia dentro de un amplio intervalo, desde aias\/gaas(f=0.16%) hasta inas\/gaas (f=7.17%). Las tecnicas basicas utilizadas han sido microscopia electronica de alta resolucion (hrem), microscopia electronica de transmision en modo de contraste de difraccion, difraccion electronica de area selecta (saed) y difraccion electronica de haces convergentes (cbed), habiendose preparado las muestras estudiadas en seccion transversal (xtem), vision planar (pvtem) y en cu\u00f1as de 90o (wtem). En relacion a esta ultima tecnica, se ha desarrollado una metodolog\u00eda para la determinacion de parametros reticulares a partir de la posicion de las lineas de las zonas de laue de alto orden.  se han realizado determinaciones composicionales en capas de aixga1-xas y en superredes aias\/gaas que corresponden, respectivamente, a las capas confinadoras y la cavidad optica de una estructura laser de pozo cuantico, a la vez que se han analizado sistematicamente las posibilidades que la hrem ofrece para la caracterizacion composicional a nivel de monocapa en intercaras aias\/gaas.  el espesor critico correspondiente a la relajacion del desajuste reticular y la distribucion de in han sido investigadas en heteroestructuras de pozo cuantico constituidas por gaas y monocapas de in en sus zonas
