Durante 1989 y 1990 se estudiaron los sistemas de riego por aspersion y surcos, tal como se realizan en la zona. El efecto de ambos fue similar en cuanto al lavado de sales y control de la capa freatica.  se observaron deficiencias en la programacion y uniformidad de los riegos, especialmente en el riego por surcos. En ambos casos, se demostro la importancia del sistema de grietas que se forman en estos suelos en el proceso de drenaje. El riego a impulsos mejoro la eficiencia en la aplicacion de agua pero el lavado de sales es menor debido a un flujo preferencial a traves de las grietas. Se realizaron simulaciones de algunos periodos con el modelo macro, observandose discrepancias debidas a la sobreestimacion de la percolacion y escorrentia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
