Molleri, a. Moebil y a. Fernandae dificiles de separar. Se han estudiado 12 poblaciones de dichas especies, junto con otras dos muy relacionadas, a.  opisthosellata y a. Dubiosa, mediante tecnicas cariologicas y electroforeticas (ief). Los resultados cariologicos (n=16 en todas las poblaciones, tetraploides salvo a. Dubiosa) y alozimicos (14 loci estudiados) permiten confirmar que se trata de un unico taxon especifico, siendo a. Opisthosellata considera una subespecie de a. Molleri y a. Dubiosa una especie cercana muy relacionada.
