Cruzi, los cuales se distribuyen en dos agrupaciones, formadas por unidades de 1,2 y 0,76 kb.  cada unidad genera su transcrito correspondiente de 1,0 y 0,7 kb, los cuales se regulan de manera dependiente de la replicacion del dna. La histona h2a de t. Cruzi es una proteina basica de 135 aminoacidos y peso molecular de 14,3 kd. Analisis de homolog\u00eda revela valores altos de identidad con especies relacionadas, mientras que con el resto de las h2a descritas en otros organismos, presenta identidades inferiores, relativas al dominio central de la proteina.
