Para ello se han estudiado las propiedades conformacionales de fragmentos de proteinas que corresponden a secuencias que forman estructuras de tipo giro beta en la proteina nativa. El estudio se ha llevado a cabo por resonancia magnetica nuclear, tecnica muy poderosa para la deteccion de estructuras plegadas poco pobladas. Se han estudiado tambien peptidos con modificaciones en la secuencia para explorar los requerimientos de secuencia para la estabilidad de los giros detectados y se han dise\u00f1ado dos peptidos con alta probabilidad de formar giro beta, obteniendose en uno de los peptidos una estructura muy estable de tipo horquilla beta primer caso descrito hasta ahora.
