En la primera especie hemos empleado discos de hoja como material de seleccion y hemos obtenido lineas resistentes a picloram, en las que el caracter parece ser epigenetico. El estudio mas detallado de una de las lineas muestra que la resistencia no se expresa con otras auxinas, y que hay modificaciones en el patron de proteinas de los callos resistentes algunas de las cuales podrian relacionarse con la resistencia. En m.Sativa obtenemos embriones a partir de las celulas desdiferenciadas de los callos. Empleando dos tipos de callo y siguiendo estrategias de seleccion diferentes, hemos obtenido lineas resistentes a estreptomicina. El caracter ha sido especifico de este antibiotico, no expresandose con otros que tambien actuan sobre los ribosomas de organulos.
