Cuando esta droga se administro a ratones pre-tratados con feno-barbital, la localizacion intraacinar de la lesion hepatica se manifesto en la region periportal.  en general, la secuencia de acontecimientos que tiene lular por efecto de xenobioticos hepatotoxicos es la siguiente:  toxico&#8211;lesion hepatica&#8211; muerte celular (apoptosis y\/o necrosis) &#8212; regeneracion hepatocelular &#8212; restauracion de la funcionalidad en el caso de la cocaina esta secuencia se produce por la formacion de la cocaina nitroxido*, producto del metabolismo oxidativo de esta droga. En este doble modelo de hapatotoxocidad se han evaluado parametros relacionados con lesion hepatica, enzimas generadores y consumidores de nadph estados redox relacionados con el cociente gsh\/gssg,
