Estos modelos nos han permitido estudiar la participacion del factor activador de las plaquetas (paf) y las citocinas factor de necrosis tumoral (tnf) y la proteina inducible por interferon (ip-10), asi como de las celulas residentes glomerulares, en la patogenia de la nefrosis. Hemos comprobado que las celulas residentes glomerulares contribuyen a la aparicion de proteinuria mediante la sintesis de una cascada de mediadores, entre los que se destacan el tnf y el paf. En los mecanismos de produccion de la lesion de la celula epitelial glomerular inducida por la adriamicina y el pan in vitro participan el paf y el tnf.  las lesiones glomerulares de la nefrosis se pueden prevenir mediante el tratamiento con antagonistas del paf o una dieta hipoproteica. Finalmente, el clonaje del ip-10 de rata nos ha permitido comprobar la posible participacion de los peptidos de la familia de la il-8 en la patogenia de las enfermedades
