Se demuestra que la reactividad en reaccion de sustitucion nucleofila depende de la configuracion local (secuencias tacticas y sobre todo los extremos de las mismas) y de las conformaciones asociadas a ella; mediante el analisis (rmn de 13c, tir, etc.) De la evolucion estructural conforme progresa la reaccion de la modificacion en diferentes medios, se demuestran los mecanismos estereoselectivos que la rigen; gracias a estos resultados ha sido posible la sintesis de polimeros-modelo conmicroestructura bien definida, y del estudio de sus propiedades (transicion vitrea y degradacion termica) se han deducido correlaciones con la microestructura que permite interpretar aquellas a nivel molecular (mecanismos).
