Luz <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La prolactina (prl) es una hormona polipeptidica secretada por la adenohiposfisis clasicamente se la ha considerado la hormona de la lactancia. Sin embargo en los ultimos a\u00f1os se han descrito multiples acciones de esta hormona. Entre ellas la participacion de la prl en el control de la actividad de determinados neurotransmisores en el s.N.C. Y snp. Nosotros hemos estudiado concretamente, el papel modulador de la prl sobre la neurotransmision dopaminergica extrahipotalamica en el snc. Como modelo experimental para el estudio del papel de la hormona a nivel del sistema nervioso periferico hemos escogido la medula adrenal, y hemos estudiado el papel modulador de la hosmona sobre la actividad catecolaminergica de la medula adrenal. Para estos estudios se han utilizado modelos animales a los que se les indujo de forma experimental diversas situaciones de hiperprolactinemia. Ademas tambien se realizaron algunos experimentos in vitro nuestros resultados apuntan a que la prl tiene efectos moduladores sobre la neurotransmision dopamenergica extrahipotalamica central y sobre la actividad catecolaminergica de la medula adrenal.
